The best year ever!!

Wow its 2012!! 2012 has already been such a amazing year and its only February !! The last year has gone by so fast, I can't believe how much my life has changed over the year. 2011 was such a crazy year. I have loved being married, having my own place, and being more independent. Ryan and I have had so much fun, and we have learned so much about each other. Being pregnant this last year has been the biggest change of all. I have had so many ups and downs, emotional melt downs, food aversions, backaches, fat days, stretch marks, sleepless nights, and lets not forget peeing every ten minutes. But now I can say that it was all worth it, I would do it all over again, and I would actually like to do it a few more times.

Ryan and I proudly announce the greatest blessing in our life, our son Beckham James Turner. Born January 20th. 6lbs 3oz.

My last doctors appointment was on January 18th. We went in for my 36 week appointment, I was getting my step B test done, and also checking to see if I was dilated at all. I wasn't expecting to be dilated, but when we checked I was at 2 cm and 100 effaced. My doctor was a little shocked that I was already at a 2 with a month still left, so he wanted to do a ultra sound. When we checked to ultra sound we found out that he was breech. My doctor wanted me to come in and try to manually turn the baby in two days.

Well two days later at 3:30am my water broke. We were very shocked and not ready at all. So we were rushing around trying to pack everything we needed. I was so nervous and worried because he would be coming so early. On the way to the hospital I started to have major contractions and was rushing Ryan to hurry. When we got to the hospital we found out that I was at 5cm and was dilating fast. We checked the baby and he was still breech, so I would have to get a C section. I was hoping that he would have turned. The past two days I was trying positions to try to get the baby to turn on his own.

I was so nervous not only was I going to have a baby, but now I was going to have surgery. They gave me a epidural because my contractions were getting so bad. I was supposed to be getting a spinal tap for my c section, but they thought my epidural would be enough. When I went to the ER for my c section I was dilated 8cm, so it was too bad I wasn't having a normal delivery because I would have only been in labor for a few hours. About ten minutes into my surgery I started to feel some pain, my epidural was wearing off and it started to get worse. They ended up having to give me something that put me to sleep. So I basically woke up ten minutes later with a baby in my arms.

I was a little upset that I didn't see him born and get to hold him right after, but I was just happy that he was healthy and wouldn't have to go to the NICU. He ended up having a little bit of jaundice and the doctor was a little worried about his hips because he was breech and he kept his legs bent like a frog. But his jaundice levels have went down, and now his legs are just fine.Recovering from a C section was really hard the first few days, I wasn't able to hold Beckham very long or change him. I was practically in bed all day for the first five days. Ryan was a huge help and didn't mind changing every diaper.

Being a parent is one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced. I am so excited for this huge change in my life, I couldn't ask for a better blessing. I have such a amazing husband and a precious little boy to share my life with. I can't wait to see what this year has in store for us and I know that this will be one of the best years ever!

Jazz Fever!!

A couple of weeks ago Ryan and I took my brother and sister to the Energy Solutions Arena to see the reveal of the new Jazz jersey. It was pretty crazy when we went their was a ton of people and a lot of cameras! We were hoping to see some of the Jazz players, but we only saw the Jazz Bear. When we went they were giving out free hot dogs and drinks and we all got T-shirts. The best part was that we got free tickets to a pre season game, they didn't have that many, so we were lucky that we got some.

The free tickets we got were pretty good seats. It was a lot closer than we ever have been before. I have always been a Jazz fan, but with the new team we have this year I wasn't that excited to go to the game. But I was wrong, going to the game was a lot funner then I expected, it was a really good game and the crowd and the energy in the arena is so much better than watching it on tv. Lets hope the Jazz have a good season this year!!

The Jazz won 92 to 89!! It was a close game which made it more intense and the crowd was going crazy those last couple of minutes!!

Okay so the craziest part of the night was after the game. We were stuck in traffic trying to get out of the game. We were so low on gas and we couldn't find a gas station anywhere. So we had to go out of our way to get to a gas station, we finally found one. It was a pretty scary gas station and I thought we might get robbed. So Ryan when in to pay for gas while I locked the doors and then this really nice car pulled up next to us. I was busy checking out the nice car before I slowly realized that it was Paul Millsap!! Ryan came back and everyone started freaking out in the car, we finally got out of the car and asked if we could take a picture! It was pretty funny and my brother was even wearing a Millsap jersey!! The whole way home we were all so excited and all we could talk about was meeting Millsap at a gas station!!

Live Nativity!!

Ryan and I recently went up to Alpine to see a live Nativity. They had people dressed up as the people of Jerusalem. They had wise men, shepards, soldiers, women making baskets, and of course Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus. It was all outside and in a huge barn with animals even camels. It was really cold outside when we went, but they had barrels of fire everywhere and people were giving out hot chocolate so we managed to stay warm. It was a lot of fun and they even had hayrides to go up the path and carolers everywhere. It was really well done and a nice reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.

So my brother just had his 21st birthday, and we decided that we would celebrate by going to LAS VEGAS!! We stayed just a couple of nights, but it was nice to get out of the house and go away for the weekend. Of course being 7 months pregnant and going to Vegas isn't as appealing as it usually is but I managed to have fun anyways. Most of Vegas was decorated for the holidays so it was nice to see all the Christmas decorations. The first night we went and saw a awesome show MYSTERE by Cirque du Soleil. The show was so good and the performers were amazing. I mostly enjoyed eating at all the really good restaurants. We went to my favorite The Cheesecake Factory!! And for breakfast we tried Hash House! Which was so good and the portions were huge!! Cody had a really good time and was the only one to win any money, so I guess he had beginners luck!!

Fall is finally here! This summer has been such a blast and we have had so much fun being newlyweds. We love being married and having our own place, it is such a huge change and has gone by so fast. We have had so much happen this summer, but the biggest surprise this summer is that were going to have a BABY!! This news was a huge surprise to us, we weren't trying to get pregnant at all and were planning on waiting at least a year! After the huge shock wore off we were definitely excited to start our family.

I am so bad at updating because I am currently 24 weeks pregnant!! This baby was a Honeymoon baby, which is why we were so shocked that it happened so soon after being married. We found out on Father's day that I was pregnant. I was sick all week and Ryan kept telling me that I was probably pregnant, but I still didn't believe it. So I took like 3 pregnancy tests and when I saw that I was pregnant I was in such shock and Ryan kept saying I knew it! I knew it! I think our family was all shocked too. They definitely weren't expecting us to get pregnant so soon, especially since we always said we wanted to wait two years. They were all really excited for us and very supportive.

My due date is February 17th 2012! (Which is also my birthday) and we are going to have a baby BOY!! I thought it was going to be a girl and Ryan thought a boy.

My first trimester was really tough I was very sick all the time, I couldn't eat very much, and had really bad food aversions. I felt like every bad symptom of pregnancy I would get. I was so tired all the time and very ornery, but Ryan was very supportive and he helped me a lot throughout all the tough times.

I am now currently at the end of my second trimester and have been feeling really good. I think me and Ryan are so relieved that it has gotten a lot better. So far this is my favorite part of being pregnant. I have a appetite now and I am eating all the time (So I am definitely getting a belly now). But my favorite part is feeling him move every day! It is so exciting and I finally feel like I am actually caring a baby now! This trimester has gone by so fast and I cant believe how close its getting. I think with all the holidays coming up, its really going to go by fast.

The Gardens

We went to the Gardens last year for the 1st time and we loved it! So of course we were going again!! The gardens were so pretty and the weather was perfect! We went with Aaron and Jessica this time and they have been a million times, so they knew where all the perfect places were! It was a lot of fun and we will definitely be going every year!

Honeymoon in Vegas!!

These past months have been so crazy! I am so glad that all the planning and the wedding are over! Me and Ryan have been looking forward to our much needed Honeymoon for a long time! We decided to go to Las Vegas! We are definitely veterans of Vegas, but our cruise was too much! LOL! We had a good relaxing time in Vegas, we only stayed there for a few nights, but the real honeymoon was having two weeks off work!

We went to the Sugar Factory at the Venetian! They had a ton of candy, and really good ice cream!!

The weather was so nice, it was 90 degrees while we were there, so of course we had to spend time at the pool.

We got a great deal for show tickets for the Tournament of Kings! I remember seeing this show when I was younger at Knottsberry Farm, so I was excited to see it again!

We tried Margaritaville for lunch and it was really good! The burgers were sooo good, and the Margarita's were amazing!

We were definitely excited because this time we flew to Vegas. We haven't been on a plane in four years, so were we looking forward to flying this time! The plane ride to Vegas was so good, and it was really nice to be there in 1 hour instead of a 5 hour car ride. But on the way back home our plane was so small it barely held 60 people! We could feel a lot of turbulence and it sounded like the engine was going to die sometime! So we were definitely nervous the whole flight back, we did make it home safe, but not without us contemplating our death!

I'm not sure if I can describe how happy I am to say goodbye to 2010. Not because it was awful, on the contrary. I am a sucker for a fresh start,clean slate, and new beginnings. It was a busy year and I think I did okay for myself.

I started new goals. I read new books. I yelled a lot. I laughed a lot.

I lost weight. I gained weight.

I started new diets. I ate a gallon of ice cream by myself.

I sang and danced in front of people.

I went hiking and camping. I never got over my fear of bears.

I tried to take the high road. I acted like a stubborn child.

I spent more time with my sister. I fought more with my sister.

I held grudges from the past.I tried to forgive and forget past mistakes.

I quit a new job. I gained a new job.

I splurged. I saved. I bought things I didn't need. I got rid of a lot of stuff. I never kept my room as clean as I would have liked

I desperately wanted kids. I never wanted to have kids.

I tried new restaurants. I cooked more at home.

I went house shopping. I tried to get out of debt.

I spent hours in a puddle of water from my house getting flooded.

I was really glad my room was upstairs.

I tried to enjoy my last year living with my family. I really really tried.

I missed my grandma Billie. I cried a lot. I still talk to her all the time.

I got engaged. I started to plan my wedding.

I took a lot of pictures. I stopped hiding from the camera.

I realized my family is totally crazy and dysfunctional, and I fit right in.

I sat in bed all day and felt miserable. I felt miserable about feeling miserable about myself.

I saw my sister laugh so hard she peed her pants. I saw my dad cry for the first time.

I hated getting out of bed at seven in the morning on Christmas. I am really going to miss my siblings waking me up on Christmas morning.

I went to several weddings.I helped participate in a funeral.

I have never felt more like an adult. I wished I didn't have to grow up.

I didn't make my bed. I took naps in the sun. I was humbled. I got really excited thinking about the things that are in store for this coming year.

Most of all, I woke day after day and was grateful to have my family, my friends and you by my side.

Park City!!

Ryan and I wanted to go away for the weekend, so we decided to go to Park City!! We had such a good time, it's been awhile since we have been there and it was a much needed vacation. It was such a nice relaxing weekend, the weather was perfect and it wasn't to busy. We spent all day shopping at the outlets and the nights trying new restaurants and just hanging out in the city.

We stayed at Peaks hotel. It was really nice! They had a
indoor pool and jacuzzi, a nice Cafe and a Sports Bar.

We ate at 350 Main. It was a really fancy restaurant.

They had good food, but kinda pricey

We also tried Wasatch Brewery! It was so good, we will

definitely go there again.

The Proposal!!

I'm finally engaged!! It only took 5 years 3 months and 25 days to get a ring!! Haha not that I'm counting! The day Ryan proposed we had plans to go to Sundance. I didn't suspect a thing I thought it was just another date night. Ryan isn't very good at surprises, so the fact that this was a total surprise is really saying something. We got up the canyon and it was the perfect day. The weather was so nice and the fall colors were so pretty! We walked around a little bit, then we decided to take the ski lift up the mountain. We were one of the last people on and it was almost closing, so we barely made it. It was such a scenic ride up but at first I was just scared. I have a little fear of heights, and we didn't see the bar to put down in front of us on our seat. Ryan said maybe they didn't have a bar to put down!! So I was basically freaking out and the higher we went the worse I got. Then we saw that the people on the other side had a bar in front of them. We eventually figured it out, or I might be telling a different story! I finally calmed down and started to enjoy the view. I felt bad afterwards because I almost ruined the moment with me being so paranoid! We kept talking and then Ryan started saying some really sweet things about us and our future. I remember thinking wow he is really being nice today! LOL. He kept talking and I had no idea that he was proposing. Then I saw the ring!! I was in total shock, I kept thinking holy crap! In fact I think I said that over and over! I kinda fazed out a little bit and he kept talking and talking, saying all these sweet things. Then I started crying! I was totally lost in the moment, it was so perfect, he is so perfect, and my ring was just so pretty! Ryan said that he was so nervous all day long, and it was one of the longest days ever!!! It is so fun being engaged, it feels just so different. We have always talked about our future, but now it feels so real! I am really excited to take the next step and get married!! Even though planning a wedding is going to a difficult journey itself (especially with my mother). We haven't set a date yet, but we were thinking maybe spring or early summer of next year!

Goodbye Summer Campouts!!

I love camping in the summer! I love the outdoors, hiking, being up in the canyon, the camp fire, eating good food, and getting away from home . We have been camping a few times this summer up AF canyon and Jollys campground up Spanish Fork canyon. We have so much fun just hanging out around the fire, and playing games all night. And the food!! We have bbq's that are amazing, and tons of snack food, we are just eating the whole time!! I don't even mind sleeping in a tent, even though I am terrified of bears the whole night. I wish we would have gone camping more this summer, because I miss it already!

Ryan's little obsession

Ryan has loved hunting for as long as I've known him, but I think his obsession has gotten worse over the years especially with him working at Cablelas. This year Ryan wanted to try something new and he put in for the archery hunt. Since the season started he has been obsessed! That's all he will talk about, he comes home and tells me all these stories and uses his fancy hunting lingo. And most the time I have no idea what he is talking about, but I try to be supportive (to some extent). I know he loves it a lot because he wakes up at 4 am on his days off to go! He has bought all this fancy equipment, and shoots arrows in my backyard all the time. He has even got my brother obsessed, they go together all the time. Then they will come home and be so excited that they even saw a deer. You really can't be around the two of them when they get started talking about it. Ryan recently had a incident where Ryan and Cody went hunting up the canyon. My brother wasn't being to safe and left his arrow on his bow and Ryan ran into the arrow and it punctured his leg pretty deep. He had to go to the hospital and was walking around on crutches for days. And the only thing he was upset about was that he couldn't go hunting for a week! He was counting down the days to go again. He hasn't shot a deer yet, and he's been really upset about it, but I know he has a good time anyway. Now that the archery season is almost over he's already talking about duck hunting!

This was our first time to the Gardens at Thanksgiving Point! We were starting to wonder why we haven't been before because it was so pretty and definitely not what we expected! They have a ton of flower gardens(obviously) and the place is soo big there is so much to see! We went when it was really hot so we didn't get to see everything, so we still might go back this year:)

Bear Lake!

I use to go to Bear lake all the time when I was younger but its been awhile since I went back, so I was really excited that we planned our summer family vacation there. We rented a huge house with all my family from my moms side. It was really nice to spend time with family and all my cousins are so much fun!!! Bear lake is really pretty the water is soo clear and the beaches were awesome! We spent a lot of the time on the beach playing games in the sand or we were on the boat tubing. Ryan and I were so worried about getting burned we were obsessive with the sun screen (especially Ryan) so we didn't even get that great of a tan :( But we had a great time anyway. On the last night all of us went to a dance because we were all bored. We thought it was going to be pretty lame; but it turned out to be so much fun we danced for hours and even Ryan busted a move. Hahaha!!

Pittsburg Lake

Ryan has been wanting to go to Pittsburg lake all summer, and for some crazy reason I finally caved!! The hike up there was insane! It was uphill the whole way, and I thought I was going to die!! But once we got up there it was worth it. The lake and the mountains were so pretty! We went up with Aaron and Jessica and it was fun to hang out and fish. Everyone caught a fish except for me of course! We spent the whole day there and on the hike down everyone kept sliding and falling down the steep trail, it was hilarious we were all laughing the whole way down!

July 4th weekend!!

Every year I look foreward to the 4th of July. I love the barbeques, the fireworks, and hanging out with friends and family.This year we had a pretty busy 4th of July weekend. On Saturday we went and saw fireworks in Provo with Mindy and Parker. We ended up getting a good spot in the hospital parking lot!Lol! Then on Sunday we went out to dinner and did fireworks and sparklers in the backyard at Chase's parents house! Monday we went to the Provo parade and had a pool party at Ryan and Alyse's place. It was a great weekend and I look foreward to more summer fun!

Lehi Rodeo!!

There isn't much going on in little old Lehi but one thing that is a pretty big deal around here is the Lehi Roundup Rodeo! We go every year and it's always a lot of fun. They have the same thing and jokes every year! But we always enjoy ourselves anyway!

Vegas Vacation!!

This month we couldn't pass up going to my sisters cheer competition because it was where else?? Las Vegas!! We had such a fun weekend! We ended up staying at Tahiti Village, which was so nice and the pool was awesome! The weather was 85-90 degrees all weekend, so we definitely took advantage of it. Amanda's cheer team did really well and placed 1st in her division! The trip was a lot of fun; but definitely to short! I can't wait to go back!!

Spring Pictures!!

We decided to start this spring off with some new pictures. We haven't taken cute pics in awhile so we asked our favorite photographer Mindy to help us out. We took advantage of the great weather and went to Heber and took some great ones on the trains! Then we drove all around Provo looking for some good spots!! All of the pictures turned out great! February Favorites!!

February has always been one of my favorite months with fun things like Valentines Day, my birthday, winter being almost over! We have been so busy, I feel like I never have time to update everything! Here is some of the fun events that happened this month.

Valentines Day!!

This Valentines I had such a good time, Ryan really made it a special evening. He got me the sweetest card and flowers! Then surprised me and took me to an amazing Italian restaurant Laganos. The food was the best, and the tirimisu was to die for!! Afterwards we went to see Valentines Day. It was the perfect evening, and I was with the perfect person!!

Our Road Trip Weekend!!

We had such a fun weekend!! First we went to the Myan Adventure restaurant, which was so cool because I haven't been there in a long time. The food wasn't great, but the atmosphere was a lot of fun!! After we went and saw Avatar in Imax 3D!! Yes we saw it again, but seeing it in 3D was like seeing a whole different movie! Then the next day we decided to take a road trip to Idaho. Yeah it sounds lame, but I had a pretty good time. We went to Fort Hall casino, and lost all of our money!! Then we went to Lava Hot Springs to sit in the hot pools, which was so nice in the cold weather!

Its my Birthday!!

On February 17th I turned the big 22!! My birthday was pretty good, not as great as when I turned twenty one, but still I had a pretty good birthday! I got a lot of great presents- money, ugg boots, scentsy candle, and jewelry!! Thanks everyone!!

My Best Friends Wedding!!

My best friend Shannee got married on February 20th! She looked so gorgeous and I loved her dress!! The ceremony was small and sweet, and she looked so happy! I am so happy that she finally found someone. Congratulations Geoff and Shannee!!!

Amanda's Cheer Competition!!

Amanda had her cheer competition for Twisters this month!! I helped her and her friends with their makeup, and all that glitter was driving me crazy!! Her team did pretty well they placed 3rd. Her next competition is in Las Vegas! So I definitely cant wait to go to that one!!

Ruby's Birthday!!

We all got together and went to dinner for Ruby's Birthday. Before that all of us girls went to a jewelry party and made some really cute jewelry for Ruby. She loved all the things she got for her birthday. Dinner was great and it was really nice to have the whole family together!!

Rock Band Night!!

One of our new favorite games to play is Rock Band!! The other night we went to Jeff & Marys and played for hours. It was a lot of fun, we played everything from Taylor Swift to the Rolling Stones!! We each took a turn playing the drums, guitar and singing; and believe me there's nothing like Ryan and Chase singing solo! LOL!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!! We had so much fun this New Year!! Ryan and Alyse were nice enough to host our New Years Party, even with a newborn on thier hands!! We spent the night eating a ton of food, playing games, holding baby Paetyn, and embarrasing ourselves on the wii!! It was a great year, with so many good memories. So many things are changing. I can't wait to see what next year has in store for us!!!

We went Camping at Jolly's Ranch for the second time this summer. It is really nice up there. It was really hot though we tried to stay in shade. We had fun playing horseshoes, football, and frisbee. I love camping as long as bears don't visit my tent in the middle of the night!

Our family went camping to Moon Lake in Duchesne County. We got to stay in cabins which was fun. We rode in paddle boats, went fishing and played volleyball.
